A foggy Easter Sunder saw five of the WRC gang rise early, not, as you would expect for chocolate, but for a race around Hale village.
The race, organised by BTR, seemed small upon arrival but the music was playing and the enthusiasm was high.
Our runners attacked the picturesque course with full force, taking in the lovely views and the fantastic support from the locals. The start and finish took place in the park and as you crossed the finish line the mayor of Hale was right there to give you a pat on the back and a handshake (a unique little touch).
The winner of the race unbelievably ran the course in just 25.21 minutes and our very own Mike Metcalf wasn’t far behind.
Some might have said the entry fee was a little high for a 5 mile race but the brimming goodie bag and road closures would seem that you get your money’s worth and more. All runners also receive an instant text with their time and position, along with a quality t-shirt and medal, you even have access to a personalised video of your run, pretty cool!
All five of our runners walked back to their cars that day as the sun shone down with their heads held high. Another fantastic event with the WRC badge proudly on show.
