WRC rock it in Liverpool

groupshotlpool15In a month that saw the Three Queens sail majestically down The Mersey, Warrington Running Club strode into Liverpool and made its presence equally felt at the Rock n Roll Running Festival.

A double decker bus filled to capacity with 80 runners left a trail of primrose and blue at the iconic big wheel and were joined by two members who had secretly arrived separately, in fancy dress as Mr and Mrs Potato Head.

Many of the members had tackled half and full marathons before, but WRC had circa 20 “first timers” in our midst and all enjoyed striking their runs off their “bucket lists”.

Those that had finished the half marathon de-camped to the finish line, to cheer on every full marathon runner as they crossed the line. Cow-bells and sleigh bells in June? Yes, the support and encouragement from every member was fantastic, and really had to be seen to be believed.

The journey home was done in very high spirits as everyone celebrated their individual successes, before landing back at WRC HQ, The Seven Woods in Westbrook, for further celebrations and congratulations.
