No sign of summer in Liverpool as WRC enjoy more success

photo (1)British summer time began in earnest in Liverpool for the Vitality Half Marathon but there was little sign of sunshine in the skies as over 5000 runners took to the famous streets.

WRC, as always was very well represented, with a number of runners backing up from the Viper Series 369 event, just a day earlier.

Many of the clubs most competitive athletes were on show and on the day it was Mike Metcalfe who led the pack home in an outstanding chip time of 1:22:10. He was closely followed by Matthew Johnston (1:24:46) and Jon Strange (1:26:29).

Elsewhere other runners representing the club included Darren Blackshaw (1:42:46), Mike Clark (1:46:13), Andy Fisher (1:46:15), Graham Cheers (1:51:38), Catherine Salt (2:11:42), Holly Blakemore (2:26:06), Jo Lomax (2:15:37) and Elizabeth Partington (2:35:24).

Mark Daniels also ran the race as an official 2 hour pacer.
