Park Run #63 on March 21, was scheduled as a WRC event largely to celebrate the success of a new beginners group that the club had launched over an 8-week period.
On the day there was a huge turn out from the primrose and blue army, taking the park run event to just shy of 300 competitors.
Continuing on in his own personal development, Mike Metcalfe stole the show as he led the race from start to finish, flying home in a remarkable time of 17:52 over the 5K Victoria Park route. He finished 9 seconds in front of his nearest challenger.
Elsewhere Nat Ashurst (20:27), Brian Hall (20:50), Dan Dunbabin (21:13) and Stefano Cossu (21:32) all finished within the top 20 places.
