Chester set for WRC invasion

chester14Anticipation is growing at Warrington Running Club, ahead of the latest challenge on the calendar this weekend.

Sunday is the day for the 2014 MBNA Chester Marathon, which also includes the novel idea of a “Metric Marathon” offering runners the chance to cover a 16.3 mile route instead of the full distance of 26.2 miles.

Nat Ashurst, Darren Blackshaw, Damian Cowell, Sarah Day, Hannah Gallagher, Sarah Nuttall, Jenna Taylor and Julia White will be representing WRC over 26.2 miles, whilst Hayley Cash, James Clipstone, Dave Flanagan, Sue Flanagan, Debbie Guest, Leanne Haigh, Evonne Hazlehurst, Lisa Jefferies, Phil Jolley, Erika Lamb, Neil McCurrie, Lucy McEllin, Sian Percival-Edwards, Lisa Reid, Chloe Shankland, Hayley Wilkinson and Dave Yates will be going for glory in the metric.

Another great day lies ahead as Chester is set to become awash with primrose and blue on a weekend when WRC also celebrates its second birthday.

The club wishes the best of luck to all of its runners this weekend.

For those travelling to the event on the official coach, it leaves The Seven Woods at 7am.
