2016 a year to remember at the Manchester Marathon.

On a frosty morning in April a little 90 seater coach came to collect many anxious runners to embark on a run of a lifetime. man mara 4

Warrington Running Club swarmed Manchester, it was a sea of primrose of blue everywhere. Over the years WRC have grown from just a couple of runners to hundreds, they have made a name for themselves for being the friendliest running club and it’s not hard to see why.

The support that day was amazing. From Powerman dishing out high fives and Creme Eggs at mile 17, to the favourite loud mouth Wiganer jumping around at mile 21.

It was great to see so many friendly faces achieving their goals that day. Time goals were achieved, many completed their first marathons and lots stuck together and supported others over the hours of effort and pain.

For some it was not the race they wanted but support, comfort and guidance was given in their time of need and when their time comes to run again WRC will be there cheering on the sidelines.   man mara 1

That day was not just about the hours running the marathon, it was about the early morning and late nights, it was about the countless miles, about the injuries, about the pain and most of all it was about the dream.
